Rang De Basanti director Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra has finally unveiled the first look of his forthcoming film. The poster unveiled recently in Dubai shows the name of the film as Delhi 6. However, for the longest time the film has always been promoted as Dilli 6.
So what has brought about this change in the spelling?
The director’s unit says that the name was selected by the public on a social networking site and it has nothing to do with numerology.
“Rakeysh didn’t change the title of the film because of his belief in numerology. He asked the users on Facebook to vote for the title of the film. Previously he had asked them to select the logo of Delhi 6 too. And that’s how they selected Delhi 6,” informs Mehra’s team.
But will Delhi 6 really work better for Rakheys Omprakash Mehra and UTV?
“Delhi 6 will give good result at the box office. The old name Diili 6 which totaled up to 18 was not an auspicious number for both Abhishek and Sonam Kapoor while Delhi 6 totals to 24 which adds up to 6…which the title of the name already has. This change will prove beneficial to Sonam Kapoor as her acting will be appreciated. Also number 6 is very good for Ronnie who is the producer of the film. This film will give a good result for UTV as well. Moreover audiences will like the chemistry between Abhishek and Sonam Kapoor,” informs noted numerologist Bhavikk Sanghvi.
This is not the first time that Bollywood has taken an audience poll while deciding the name of a film. Last year Imtiaz Ali had also asked audiences to decide the title of his film and the film in question was Jab We Met. And we all know what a big hit that was!
