Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao celebrated their 3rd anniversary at their villa in Panchgani. The couple will be holidaying there up to the New Year.
We spoke to sources close to Aamir Khan about his anniversary celebrations.
"This is not the first time that the couple has celebrated their marriage anniversary in Panchgani. They have been married for three years and they go to Panchgani every year to celebrate their anniversary. Kiran has a lot of memories associated with the hill station as the two got married there and she likes to return to the place every year on their anniversary. And this year they had more than one reason to celebrate: Aamir's film Ghajini is doing very well at the box office."
Our source further adds,"Aamir was elated about the positive response Ghajini has got and excited about his anniversary. So, after Ghajini released they went to Panchgani in a private chopper that Aamir had hired to surprise Kiran. The couple reached Panchgani on the 27th and they will return in the New Year. They are throwing a private New Year bash over there where close friends like Prasoon Joshi and Kunal Kapoor have been invited. The star casts of Ghajini and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na have also been invited. The shooting of Kiran's Dhobi Ghaat has also been stopped and will resume once the couple returns on 2nd or 3rd January."
Kiran Rao is also a private person like hubby Aamir. "It's too personal to comment on this," is all she said when we contacted her.
Aamir Khan married Kiran Rao in a private ceremony at their Panchgani villa on 28th December, 2005. Kiran Rao was the assistant director on Lagaan and the two got close during the making of the film. Aamir was previously married to his childhood sweetheart Reena and has two children, Junaid and Ira from the marriage. Kiran and Aamir have no children as yet.
