Actress and ex-miss Universe Sushmita Sen is known to have lived life on her own terms. She has always been open about all her relationships providing ample of grit to rumour-mills. The diva has always maintained that she believes in the institution of marriage but seems to be little less fortunate when finding her soul mate. To begin with Rajat Tara was her first boyfriend from college days. He came in light when she was crowned Miss Universe as he was through and through with her and her family during the pageant. Tara quit his cushy-job with United Colours of Benetton to be with her on the important day. After tasting success and stardom, Sush conveniently closed the chapter of Rajat Tara from her life only to being the new one. Puerto Rican pop star Ricky Martin who was also in the panel of judges during the Miss Universe contest was the new man in her life. Their affair could not last long as the distance tore them apart. However, the pop star went on to say on records that Sushmita was his inspiration behind his song Maria that she acknowledged in one of her famous quote.
She made her film debut with Dastak and while shooting she fell in love with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who wrote the script for the film. He was happily married to his childhood friend Aditi and had a two year old child Krishna. Vikram's married life went haywire when his Aditi came to know about their relationship. After a lot of drama finally, Vikram decided to leave his wife and daughter for Sushmita. But their relationship didn't last long and they called it off. While both Vikram and Sushmita parted amicably they still hold respect for each other.
After her break-up with Vikram Bhatt, Sushmita fell in love again but this time not with any filmmaker but hotelier Sanjay Narang. They were always seen together and there was a buzz about their engagement and marriage. Both Sushmita and Sanjay used to make public appearances like a couple and looked very much in love. But nothing happened and Sushmita broke off with Narang too. Soon after the break-up Sushmita started seeing Sabeer Bhatia, the head of hotmail.com and one of the most eligible bachelors. Sabeer Bhatia gave her a diamond ring too. Once again her new affair spiced up all the newspapers and magazine's gossip columns but Sushmita always preferred to name it as friendship.
In all these affairs Sushmita left her men and moved on in life. After going through several relationships she finally found solace in her life when she found Randeep Hooda. She was an established actress when she got involved with a newcomer like Hooda. At a point Randeep’s pictures were hung on all the walls of her home. She was so much involved that she did an International project 'Karma Confessions and Holi' opposite him. She offered her most sensational lip-locks to this new guy in this film, which created quite a rage. Both were seen at parties and also spotted shopping together. But like her other past relations her affair with Randeep didn't last long and both mutually called off their relationship. He was the youngest of all her boyfriends.
She met ad-filmmaker Manav Menon during the making of an ad. It has been more than two years since Sush and Manav have known each other, but their relationship became serious only after Sush split with actor Hooda. Unfortunately, their relationship got difficult as Manav's wife left him to join her parents back in Pondicherry after learning about his alleged affair with her. One of the reason was also Hooda’s presence in her Birthday party at her place. It so happened, as for her it is extremely important that Renee (her adopted daughter) approves of the men in her life, and Randeep was a big hit with Renee, So when she invited him to please Renee it did not go down well with Manav and yet another romantic episode of her life ended.
Once again when everyone thought that Sushmita is single again, Bunty Sachdeva, who handles celebrity endorsements, came into the picture. Bunty and actress Diya Mirza were an item at a point of time. But when at a party Sush walked hand-in-hand with him it surprised everyone. Both seemed very much into each other like a couple but the relationship died too soon.
There was also buzz that she is dating an Arab businessperson Ali Al Awdi. But the new twist in the story came when she shocked everyone by dating writer turned filmmaker Muddassar Aziz. Who directed her in film Dulha Mil Gaya. They knew each other for a long time as Muddasar also wrote Tanuja Chandra's Zindaggi Rocks. Their romance started while shooting DMG and ended with the release of the film. The split came as a shock to Mudassar as their relationship ended abruptly despite being the only lucky one to have met her parents formally in Kolkata. However, they spoke about it and decided to remain friends.
