Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor have all been part of the famed Golmaal series. Now, Kunal Khemu is set to join the ensemble cast of the third installment.
Kunal Khemu was last seen in 99 and has not been in the news except for his relationship with Soha Ali Khan. He is keen on doing the film, as it will help him resurrect his flagging career.Golmaal 3 has Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, along with Kareena Kapoor as the only female star. Director Rohit Shetty wanted to add another actor to enhance the confusion and chaos. He zeroed in on Kunal Khemu after seeing him shine in comedies like Dhol, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and 99. They were ensemble films, and Kunal stood out in them.
Golmaal 3 will go on the floors in the next couple of months and will be shot in a marathon schedule in Goa where Rohit Shetty had shot All The Best and portions of the first two Golmaal films. The director considers the holiday spot his lucky location. Not to forget that it’s quite pocket-friendly compared to exotic locales like the Maldives and Mauritius.
A source told us, ‘Rohit has spoken to Kunal, who is keen on joining the film, which is likely to be a super-success because it is a franchise and has an audience. He wants to revive his career after Jai Veeru and other flop films.’
Director Rohit Shetty and actor Kunal Khemu were unavailable for comment. A spokesperson from Ashtavinayak said things were being discussed with Kunal, but nothing was finalized.
