Aamir and Shah Rukh were the first choice for ‘London Dreams’

Mumbai: Remember the last time Aamir and Shah Rukh shared screen space? No need to strain your mind if you don’t, as the entire team of ‘3 Idiots’ was left dumbfounded when Aamir asked them the same. Not many know but the two actors had come together for brief moment in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Pehla Nasha’ in 1993 for one historical shot.

And if Raj Kumar Santoshi had his way, he would have achieved the impossible with ‘London Dreams’ that he had initially planned with the ace Khans.

According to the latest buzz, Santoshi had designed the film keeping Shah Rukh and Aamir in mind. And the talented filmmaker had even got Bollywood`s two most magnetic stars together for a joint narration for three nights.

Confirming the news, a source told a news daily, “In principle both actors loved the script, said they wanted to go home and sleep over it before they started principal photography. But for months on end, Raj Santoshi chased both actors independently and neither of them reverted.’’

Not left with any choice, Santoshi’s ‘London Dreams’ was then made into a Vipul Shah franchise with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn taking the lead.

As for the last time the two Khans came together was in Gowarikar’s film. And this piece of information was shared by Aamir himself. It so happened that Aamir asked his ‘3 Idiots’ co-star to guess as to when was the last time he was in the same frame as SRK?

With no one able to guess, Aamir said, “You guys have missed a moment in film history. Shah Rukh and I were together in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Pehla Nasha’ way back in 1993 where we gave one shot in the same frame.’’
