Aamir Khan Will Not Sign New Films for One More Year

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has decided not to sign any new film for one more year. Recently, the actor is busy promoting his forthcoming flick “3-Idiots”. In next year he wants to concentrate on his already lined up home productions. His pending productions are; Abhinay Deo’s “Delhi Belly”, Anushka Rizvi’s “The Falling” and Kiran Rao’s directorial debut “Dhobi Ghat”.

A close source to Aamir Khan said, “Aamir had earlier decided to take one year off. But now he has decided to extend his sabbatical by one more year. Filmmakers who have approached him with projects have been told that Aamir intends to take approximately one more year to supervise the post-production and final look of his three films”.

After “Ghajini”, Aamir decided to take one year break and revive himself. But now he is to extend his break. Reportedly the actor wants to spend some quality time with his wife and children. And more importantly he wants to supervise his home productions. These productions already have been delayed due to his commitments for “3-Idiots”.

A source said, “The only way Aamir feels his three productions can be completed and released in 2010 is if he sets aside all his own acting assignments to look into them. So, he isn’t signing any films in 2010 either”.

A source added, “It requires guts to say no to the best roles going in Bollywood and to a reported fee of approximately Rs.30 crore per film. But Aamir suffers no security pangs about not signing films. He told a friend he will work at his own pace, no matter what the temptation or provocation to take on extra work”.

Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol Survived Fatal Accident on the Set of ‘Aisha’

Bollywood’s young and upcoming stars Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol survived a dreadful accident on the sets of their movie ‘Aisha’.

The unfortunate incident happened when the actor duo were shooting at Goregaon’s Filmistan Studios. The Fire broke out at the studio where Sonam and Abhay were shooting for ‘Aisha’, the Hindi version of Jean Austin’s famous novel ‘EMMA’.

According to the reporters, there were no serious injuries though two technicians suffered minor injuries.

A source revealed, “The fire broke out at noon due to an electrical problem. Luckily, as the shoot was already wrapped up, there weren’t many people present on the sets. The fire brigade was immediately called and they reached the sets within a few minutes. The fire did not spread much and the place was immediately evacuated.”

The producer of the film ‘Aisha’ Rhea Kapoor told reporters, “Due to an electric fault, there was a small fire on the sets of ‘Aisha’ which was curbed within 15 minutes. The place was evacuated and nobody was seriously hurt. There was no major damage on the sets. We will resume shooting in a couple of days.”

According to the fire brigade officials, “A small did break out on the sets in Filmistan. The curtains and electrical wire on the sets were damaged. Since it is such a huge studio, four to five trucks were dispatched as precaution.”

Sources close to Katrina Kaif say that the firangi beauty has been advised by doctors at Leelavati Hospital to take complete bed rest for at least one week, which means she can not take part in any of the promotional events of the flick as it is releasing worldwide on November 27.

Though Katrina Kaif had been feeling weakness for the last few days but it deteriorated after her return from Udaipur. She had to visit a doctor at Leelavati, who diagnosed her as suffering from viral fever. Now, Katrina Kaif will have to rest at home for at least a week as the disease is contagious and may spread to other people.

However, as the release date of the flick is November 27, Akshay Kumar and other members of the flick like Suniel Shetty, Neha Dhupia, Sameera Reddy, Paresh Rawal etc will continue with their promotional activities for the flick.

It is as continuation of that promotional strategy that Akshay Kumar along with other cast members will enter the Bigg Boss’ house today and mingle with the inmates of the house. Akki is especially interested in Vindoo Dara Singh, who is also taking part in the reality show this time

Khiladi Akshay Kumar and others will remain in the Khandala house of Bigg Boss for almost fifteen minutes and then leave. The event will be shown to viewers by Colors channel in its Thursday episode.

After a royal wedding in Khandala, Shilpa Shetty oops! Shilpa Kundra and hubby Raj Kundra will be holding a grand reception in Mumbai. It will be a star studded night at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai where all the big names of Bollywood will come to wish the couple. Shilpa and Raj have not left any stone unturned to make this reception grand in what has so far been called 'wedding of the season.'

The guest list includes Amitabh Bachchan and family, SRK and family, the Kapoors, Rekha, Farah Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, the Deols, Sushmita Sen, Salman Khan and the liquor baron Vijay Malya. London-based businessman Raj Kundra left in a chariot this (Nov 22) evening to marry his actress fiancee Shilpa Shetty in Khandala, a hill station in Maharashtra.

Kundra left Amrit Villa, located about five minutes away from Bawa Villa, where the wedding is going to be held, in a chariot driven by two horses.

Clad in a maroon sherwani with golden embroidery, Kundra was sporting a turban with his face veiled by a sehra (string of flowers/pearls).

He was also holding a sword in his hand, as per Indian tradition.

Noticed dancing in the baraat (marriage procession) were actors Rohit Roy and Jackky Bhagnani.

Half the road was blocked by security guards by ropes on both sides of the chariot while the police were trying to navigate the traffic on the other half.

Raj Kundra gave a Michael Jackson performance

Shilpa Shetty's dancing skills are well-known, and her groom-to-be Raj Kundra is no less a dancer - he surprised everyone at their Sangeet ceremony by imitating late pop legend Michael Jackson's moves.

"Raj and Shilpa gave a beautiful performance. Shilpa danced to the song 'Mere hathon mein naun naun chudiyan' and Raj did a Michael Jackson performance, which was beautiful," said Kiran Bawa, Shilpa's friend and business partner.

Shilpa is tying the knot with Raj, a London-based businessman, today (Nov 22) at Kiran's Khandala bungalow. "Instead of being a businessman Raj should have taken acting as his career," added Kiran.

Shipa's wedding is one of the most talked about in tinsel town but the Sangeet ceremony last night (Nov 21) was a small affair and attended by close friends and family.

Shilpa's sister Shamita teamed up with newcomer Jackky Bhagnani for a skit.

Jackky, son of film producer Vashu Bhagnani, also performed on the charbusters such as "Dhan te nan" from the film "Kaminey" and the title song of "Om Shanti Om". He too was impressed with Raj's dancing.

"He was superb while giving that Michael Jackson performance," said Jackky.

However, Shilpa's father, Surendra Shetty, was missing.

Explaining the absence, Shilpa's mother, Sunanda, said: "He was not well, so he couldn't attend the get together. It's sad that he couldn't come, but he will surely be there for the wedding."

Bhangra pop singer Daler Mehendi was also there and set the stage by belting out his hit numbers like "Na na na na na re" and "Bolo ta ra ra" among others. He also sang the title song of "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom".

The sangeet ceremony ended at around 2.30 a.m.

Bollywood Hunk Salman Khan has joined the likes of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in starting his blog. Just that, it's an exclusive blog for his film Veer, produced by Eros Entertainment and Vijay Galani. Titled My Dream Project ….VEER, Salman calls the film his most awaited till date. In fact, he had written it long back and wanted to direct it! Excerpts:

Everyone wants to know what is Salman’s dream project? And I am very excited about the release of Veer on 22nd Jan 2010. I have lived with Veer for 20 years and want you guys to live the movie with me through this blog.

Veer can be called my most awaited film till date. I had written the story of my dream project when I was shooting for the film Baaghi in 1990.

As a child, I saw the film Taras Bulba that beautifully showed a father-son sharing an extraordinary relationship. Being inspired from this, I always wanted to write a script revolving around this bond. I had the whole thing 20 years back and wanted to direct a film on this subject… Had dreamt of becoming a director but as fate would have it, ended up becoming an actor....

Veer is the biggest Bollywood film ever to be made and a movie like this is going to be written, directed and produced once in a lifetime…

‘De Dana Dan’ Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif sizzling Rain song

Bollywood Hot Jodi Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will feature in a sizzling rain song in their upcoming film “De Dana Dan”.
