The same year she did her second Telugu movie titled Shivamani opposite Nagarjuna for which she bagged the Santosham Best Actress Award.

In 2005 she returned to Telugu films with Chakram which became her first failure as a senior artiste. Then the same year she appeared in Ullam Ketkumae. She signed films with the four leading actors of the Tamil industry: Surya, Vikram, Vijay and Ajith in Ghajini, Majaa, Sivakasi and Varalaru respectively.
The Tamil film Ghajini, opposite Vikram provided the breakthrough for Asin to become the leading South Indian actress. Asin secured the Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Actress again, for Ghajini. Sify.com praised her portrayal in Ghajini as "magical".
The same year Asin had two big releases titled Sivakasi and Majaa. Sivakasi went on to become a successful venture at the box office while Majaa could only get an average response. In 2006 her long-delayed venture, Varalaru opposite Ajith Kumar, released and became the biggest blockbuster of the year in Tamil cinema. Manisha Lamba Profile
Minissha Lamba, the beautiful lass who danced with Abhay Deol in Honeymoon Travels, proves that looks can be deceptive. She has a strong head on her fragile shoulders and is determined to prove herself as one of Bollywood’s best actresses.
Minissha Lamba enjoyed working in Honeymoon Travels with Abhay Deol. They had many close scenes together but she denies having anything personal to do with him. He is a wonderful human being but does that mean she is having an affair with her onscreen costar? Puh-lease. But yes, she would definitely love to do more films with him. However, she will not mix her professional life with her personal one. On the whole, Honeymoon Travels was a great experience.
The 'Pyar ki kahani' number in the song is essentially hers and has proved very popular. Yes, she concurs, the song is a fusion of Indian and Spanish beats. It was made because Abhay and she were going to do a tango number in the film. It was part of the script and the music by Vishal-Shekar turned out very well. The unconventional beats have worked and the music, out of the world. Of course, it has given Minissha Lamba the kind of publicity that her earlier films like Corporate could not.
It is difficult to talk to Minissha about anything but Honeymoon Travels which has made her so popular. She acted with veterans like Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani in the film. Was it daunting? Was she awed by their histrionic abilities? Yes, because she grew up watching their films. She never dreamt that she would act with them one day. However, she had no qualms about asking for their advice as often as she could. That taught her a lot about acting, she says gratefully. Ultimately, she became comfortable being amidst them.
The actor made her debut in Yahaan and followed it up with a tiny role in Corporate, then, Rocky and a special appearance in a song for Sajid Khan’s Hey Baby before she worked in Honeymoon Travels. It hasn’t been a rocky career but it hasn’t been a bed of roses either. Minissha admits that she took her time becoming famous and says that she took each day as it came. The bottomline, she says, is to enjoy every moment and expect the best. She is rather philosophical and it seems that it paid off. When fame finally came, the actor was ready for it.
She is currently working on a film called Anamika directed by Ananth Mahadevan and in another romantic mystery opposite Dino Morea. She wants to do all kinds of films in the future, she reveals. Different films which will display her acting abilities. We wish her the very best.
