Malika Sherawat to work with Salma Hayek in a Hollywood project

 

It has been a long time since Mallika Sherawat was seen in any of the Bollywood flicks. She was missing from the industry as the sexy lady was busy with her ambitious Hollywood projects. Bollywood filmmakers might have stopped offering her roles, but the doors of Hollywood have now opened for her.

Miss Sherawat’s first overseas project The Myth with Jackie Chan, has inspired her to take up the route to Hollywood. She has already acted in Hollywood movies like Hisss and Love Barack. Now, Mallika is going share screen space with the Hollywood actress Salma Hayek. In fact, the two ladies have reportedly bonded very well.

During the Cannes film festival, Mallika met Salma Hayek, who expressed her interest to work together in future.

According to the sources, “Mallika is soon going to appear in a Hollywood project with Salma Hayek. They got friendly during the Cannes festival and discussed a lot about cinema. Mallika’s Hiss act has impressed Salma and she praised the lady greatly.”

The source added, “They remained constantly in touch even after returning to the US. They have also met for dinner since then.”

Mallika and Salma starrer film is supposed to be a women-centric one and Sherawat will be seen in the central character.

The source further informed, “The much talked about movie’s story revolves around the abuse on women, which exists all over the world. Mallika loved the storyline and has shown interest to be a part of it.”

Ready for some more of Mallika Sherawat in her snakewoman avatar for 'Hisss'? Well, she's comfy being a snakewoman alright. To promote her movie at the Cannes International Film Festival this year, Mallika is going to dance with a live snake wrapped around her!

Even before this happens, there's been a lot of excitement at Cannes for Mallika. She's been tweeting about how excited she on being complimented by design legend Valentino. "In front of everyone super-designer Valentino said I'm 1 of most beautiful and glamorous women he's ever seen! I can die now, jk!"

There was more self-promotion from Mallika. She tweeted about how she was on the Cannes best dressed list. "WOW! 1 of the 13 best-dressed @ Cannes?! and me the only Indian listed!?"

Wonder what Ash and Deepika will have to say about that?

Mallika Sherawat to shoot with a snake

Mallika Sherawat is gearing up to be shot to shot by ace photographer Richard Avedon, who immortalized the ’80s German actress Nastassja Kinski by clicking her with just an enormous boa constrictor wrapped around her.

The actress, who is playing a snake-woman in her home production titled Hissss, wants to take her association with a snake to a whole different level!

A source close to Mallika confirms,

“She is currently in Los Angeles and she plans to do a photo shoot conceptualised and (to be) shot by ace photographer Richard Avedon this week. The concepts of both the shoots are similar, as in they involved a snake and an actress.” The photo session will take place at Studio 838, owned by fashion photographer Ash Gupta.

While Nastassja was naked in her photograph, it remains to be seen how far Mallika will go in terms of skin show. However an insider reveals, “Mallika will also go bare for the pictures.”

The sexy reptilian images captured will be used as key-art for the Hisss poster and marketing materials upon the film’s release.

Mallika-Sherawat has been cast opposite AVATAR co-star Laz Alonso....

It seems like Bollywood's hot and sexy Mallika-Sherawat as lost completely to Hollywood. The latest project bagged in by this sexy bombshell is ‘Love Barack’ where she is cast opposite none other than AVATAR co-star Laz Alonso. The movie is a political romantic comedy set during the frantic and intoxicating days leading up to 2008 U.S. Presidential election to be directed by Doug McHenry. The script has been written by Los Angeles Times contributing writer Gary Goldstein and Francis Kenny is the Director of Photography.

Mallika Sherawat will play the female lead and central character Aretha Gupta, a devoted, local Obama volunteer coordinator. The story is based on a romantic and political rollercoaster that develops when, the month before Election Day, Democrat Aretha unexpectedly falls for her Republican counterpart (Alonso), a handsome, dynamic African-American working for the local McCain office.

Other stars that make up the cast include veteran actress Ruby Dee (Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nominee for 2007’s American Gangster) has also joined, comedy veteran Gerry Bednob and Loretta Devine.

No wonder an elated Sherawat says, “Laz Alonso is a talented and exciting actor. I’m very lucky to be working with him.”

Mallika brunches with Yanni, Dylan!

A source present at the brunch reveals that Mallika sat between studio film director Jesse Dylan (son of legendary musician Bob Dylan) and world famous music composer Yanni.

Overheard was discussion of Mallika's next few American film projects of which our source says Mr. Dylan seemed to be involved.

Mr. Dylan directed the Will Ferrell film "Kicking and Screaming" and "American Wedding" for Universal Studios, among others.

Also mentioned was music for "Hisss", currently in post-production at a Hollywood facility. Yanni was heard offering to provide his music for the highly-anticipated film.

Some invited guests and friends of Miss Sherawat who were unable to attend include Warner Bros. studio film director Jay Chandrashakur.

And the 'CEO of HipHop" Russell Simmons, both also rumored to be in talks with the Indian star on upcoming projects.

Mallika Sherawat is honoured in Los Angeles

The Bollywood siren Mallika Sherawat used to keep her-self in the limelights right from the day she came in the tinsel world by her iconic statements. Another feather has overloaded her cap by conferring this Bollywood star with an Honorary Citizenship and Official Resolution by the City of Los Angeles.

Mallika Sherawat received this prestigious honour in front of the members of entertainment industry, friends, family and fans during a ceremony at Los Angeles City Hall in an event of 15th August Indian Independence Day.

In the City Hall Council Chambers, the council member Jose Huizar presented this honour to Mallika Sherawat. Mallika accepted the Resolution, which was signed by the Mayor and all City Council members, before giving an inspiring speech with the huge round of applause throughout the hall.

During the speech of thanksgiving and acceptance, the actress became emotional and said that she is deeply, and humbly, grateful for this grand honour, in addition to thanking the council member Huizar,

Mayor Villaragosa, Mayor Riordan, and all the City Council.

Mallika Sherawat also mentioned, "As the first Indian Bollywood actor to receive this recognition, I proudly accept it in honour of my home country, mother India, and my beloved Bollywood, the world's largest film industry." She concluded the speech saying that she is deeply touched, and eternally thankful for this acknowledgment.

Mallika Sherawat wore an eye-popping dress that hid little, revealed more at the premiere of Tarantino’s film

Whoa boy! Look what Mallika Sherawat has got herself into now. A scandalous dress for the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglourious Basterds. The hot lady from Bollywood grabbed many eyeballs with her superhot black dress that appeared scissored off from her mid-riff to her thighs. And the Hisss Highness’s modesty was covered by what appeared to be black knickers underneath the velvety dress.

Mallika apparently had trouble deciding what to wear to the premiere. On the morning of the premiere, she wrote on her Twitter page: “What shud I wear 2 the Tarantino premiere 2nite? Wud sssomething ssscandalous B appropriate?”

Expectedly, she chose a scandalous dress and later even felt that she had gone too far with the outfit.

“Hangin out in th limo on th way2 th Inglourious Basterds premiere. Wait til all u Tweeps c th dress I'm wearing! I thnk I went2far ths tym!” she later tweeted.

Scandalous or not, the dress eventually did the trick and Mallika managed to catch Tarantino’s eye. She was clicked shaking hands with the maverick director on the red carpet.

The responses by fans on Mallika’s dress have been mixed on her Twitter page. While most of them found the dress hot, some felt it was too revealing and the sex bomb should have worn a saree.

Bollywood’s sexy siren, Mallika Sherawat is highly banking on Jennifer Lynch’s Hissss in which she plays a snake woman. Apparently the actress is happy with compliments on her Hissss look and its promos.

Interestingly her fans are comparing her with the Sridevi who immortalized Snake woman’s character in Bollywood. When asked that will her film match to Sridevi’s Nagina ? “It will be unlike anything you ever saw. Nagina was a classic, but Hissss is for the new age.” She replied.

Hollywood artist to do Mallika’s make-up in ”Hiss”

Bollywood Malika sheravat is playing a role of a “snake woman (Nagin)” in her upcoming movie “Hisss” . The movie will be directed by Jennifer Lynch who also made Boxing Helena in year 1993 that eventually won her a “Raspberry award” for the worst director for the movie in 1994.

According to the sources the interesting thing in the movie is the stylish costumes, make-up and special effects . The director said that the costume quality and the make up will be remarkably from Hollywood.

Director comment about the unusual title of the Film she stated that this title is the need of the movie and the way it is going to be made, it reflects the outline of the movie since it is thriller to the movie buffs.

The producers of the movie Vikram Singh and Govind Menon who have already approved Robert Kurtzman,a known hollywood make-up artist . Kurtzman has already won the Saturn award in 1999, for the make-up in the Hollywood thriller “Vampire”.

Mallika will become an honorary citizen of Los Angeles on I-Day eve

The Los Angeles City Council has decided to make Mallika Sherawat an honorary citizen. This will be the first time the city of Los Angeles will officially confer an honour on any B-Town celebrity.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and other members of the LA City Council will do the needful on the eve of India's Independence Day. On the occasion, the city will recognise Ms Sherawat as an honorary citizen and present a resolution for her extraordinary career and charitable efforts.

Says a source close to Mallika, "It will be a celebrity -studded event where many special guests are expected to attend. Some of these will include her Hollywood friends like world-famous composer Yanni, film director Jay Chandrashekar, CAA super agent Emanuel Nunez, film director Jesse Dylan (son of musician Bob Dylan), Hisss director Jennifer Lynch and producer Govind Menon among others. Mallika has personally invited all of them to the event."

The event will be open to the public and Mallika will also sign autographs for fans before and after the event.
The source adds, "Mallika has been residing in Los Angeles at a penthouse apartment in one of the most expensive areas of the city.

In a string of firsts, Mallika is also the first star from Asia to be invited to the Twitter headquarters and the first B-Town star to have a Hollywood milkshake named after her. She a favourite on the Los Angeles social scene, charitable circuit and even at rock- star parties. This fall, she will star in her first all-American project, playing a character inspired in part by Kamala Harris (the Attorney General of San Francisco)."

After the event, Mallika and her guests will come together again for brunch.

Mallika refuses to go nude for ‘Hisss’

She has limits about exposing

Mallika Sherawat might be known for her bold style statements and her bold dressing sense. But when it came to stripping for her upcoming movie “Hisss” (pictured above), she flatly refused to go nude.

In one of the scenes, Mallika had to transform into a snake and that required her to slither and wriggle in the mud. While doing so, some certain parts of her body, including her bottom, had to be exposed.

Mallika did not want to show her bottom and hence she asked for a body double to do the scene.

Director Jennifer Lynch had to give in to Mallika’s request and agree on a body double.

“Hisss” is a story of a Naagin, played by Mallika, who sets out to find a mate with a vengeance.

From Karan Johar to Mallika Sherawat, everyone is twittering these days. But leading the pack is Priyanka Chopra who's set a record by having over 10,000 followers in a month.

Before Priyanka it was Mallika Sherawat who was leading the pack with around 8,000 followers, but Priyanka has now claimed the top spot. A source close to the actress reveals Priyanka's Twitter fixation.

"She's very net savvy and a gadget freak. In fact she was very active on Facebook and when she logged on Twitter, she got hooked on to it.

For her it's the best way to directly interact with fans around the world. She takes time to read each and every message sent to her and replies back as and when she can."

It's not just posting messages, but also taking pictures thats got Priyanka hooked. "Recently she was at a press conference and she went on stage and took a picture of the entire media in front of her.

Sadly, no. The daring Mallika Sherawat who doesn’t shy away from exposing has developed cold feet in her upcoming snake woman flick Hisss.

The actress insisted on a body double for a scene in which she sheds her skin in the forest. Her brother Vikram Lamba, when quizzed by the press on whether Mallika had backed out from doing the scene herself, denied it outright. 'Yes, we have used a body double, but it was Jennifer Lynch (the director) who took a call on the matter and decided that we should use a body double.'

Hissss is the story of a naagin with a vengeance agenda, played by Mallika. The bloody, gory film has Mallika the naagin gulping down bodies while she shape-shifts into a beautiful woman to locate her mate, who has been captured. Creating chaos in the city, the cops are bewildered with this mysterious phenomenon and Irrfan Khan, who plays the head cop must capture her before she strikes again.

But this is not a new thing. Mahesh Bhatt once spoke about her developing cold feet during the making of Murder. Did you know she used a body double even then? Now you do!

StarBoxOffice feels that the dare-bare Mallika Sherawat seems to have toned down her wild ways, which we get to hear about so much only in print. The truth is always something else. Afterall, she is still an Indian girl, no matter what she is up to in LA!
