The accused ones of violating the FEMA and Custom Acts, Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his manager, Mahroof, both have been fined with a penalty of Rs. 15 lakh. Both were caught by the DRI at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on February 13th for the same.
They were arrested with $1.24 lakh. Now, these two will have to submit the fine before leaving the country in the Customs Department. Meanwhile, the organizers are being continuously questioned for the irregularities in money transfers. DRI has asked Rahat to tell how he transfers the money raised in India? Similar questions will be asked to other event managers.
